Editing Company Records

You’ll recall we recently made changes to how Company records are maintained. Having one Company record per Company was necessary to standardize Company names, but that lead to challenges when working with web email addresses, and companies that did not have an active website. We received feedback from all of you, and as promised, we’ve released the second part of this standardization.

You are now able to edit Company records!

Adding a Company

We’ll use the example of a Contact with a Gmail address.  You’ll see there is no Company listed.

When you click Edit, you’ll see now where you are prompted to Search Companies.  You can start typing the first few letters of the Company name to see if it exists.

If the Company does not exist, you will be prompted to Create the Company.

If you’ve manually added a Company, you’ll see “Manually Assigned”

Please note, that if you manually assign a company that cannot be validated, you will not get Company metrics (revenue, headcount, NAICS codes).

If you need to return to the assigned Company (per email domain), simply click “use automatic” and the Company will revert.
